prayers

The Newbury Mosque extends an invitation for individuals to utilize our prayer facilities, which are available every day of the year. Our offerings include all five daily prayers, as well as special observances for Ramadan and Eid. Access to the prayer halls begins at 12:30 pm and concludes approximately half an hour after the final prayer of the day, ‘Isha.
For Fajr, we open the prayer 15 minutes before the time set for the congregational prayer, and close again about 15 minutes after the prayer finishes.

Congregational Prayers

Scheduled congregational prayers are a regular feature, with specific timings detailed in our prayer timetable.
Typically lasting 10–15 minutes, these congregational sessions provide communal worship opportunities.

On Fridays, the two congregations of special Jumuah prayer, which replace the Zuhr prayer, are preceded by a sermon (khutbah) lasting approximately half an hour.

During British Summer Time, spanning from late March to late October, the sermon for the first congregation commences around 1:15 pm, while for the second congregation it begins at approximately 1:45 pm.
For the remainder of the year, the sermon times are adjusted to approximately 12:30 pm for the first congregation and 1:30 pm for the second congregation.
Please refer to our calendar for precise Jummah prayer timings.

Facilities

Separate prayer facilities are available for both men and women.
The mosque is equipped with ablution and toilet facilities.
